Damn, I was without power for two weeks after Katrina and thought I was going to go mad.

Funny thing, Comcast Cable got restored before I had running water that was safe to brush my teeth with;)

Honestly, some people are too stupid and/or too lazy to be allowed to live. That includes this idiot broad, any family or friends she may have, her neighbors and anyone at the city/county office who ever touched (or failed to touch when they should have) the file relating to her house. If any one of those people had lifted a finger in the last 15 years, we would have never heard of this because it would have been resolved long ago.

I love that she was ripped off by a contractor and then the contractor that fixed the place is named Mr. Crook.

I went without power for 2 weeks during the 2004 hurricane season. I got power, and then lost it 2 days later for another 4 days. This was due to the subsequent hurricane that hit land over my city.

Yeah...this IS believable. A story about the Power Industry on Fox News. Sounds like Republican propaganda to me.

you're an ass. The woman is elderly, and if you've ever known an elderly person with pride, they are too prideful and embarrassed to ask for help. She was scammed by a contractor, and that didn't help. It is unfortunate, but to call her an idiot broad is being asinine. This is the same sort of thing that scammers prey on when they target the elderly.

I would agree with you in regards to her neighbors and the City officials. Someone should have paid attention and seen that she needed help.

Unfortunately most Americans feel just like this poster.

They don't give a crap about the elderly and would rather have them just die off immediately.

I'm sure if Carousel is proposed tommorrow it would pass overwhelmingly.

mb be true, mb not, i can't speak for most americans.

i know for myself, i will always take care of my parents and grandmother.

HOWEVER, i do think the elderly should be retested for licensing purposes, there are a lot of elderly people that drive that have no business driving.
