Hi

I have a problem with my new card and am pretty sure i know what it is but would like some confirmation.

Im running win2k, and ive tried dx7, dx8, nvidia drivers 6.33 6.34 6.47 and 7.17 all with same results

In directx games at 640*480 i get occaisional flashing of white and sometimes see the windows start bar flash on the screen. If i increase the resolution this happens more often. If i turn on FSAA it happens more and will crash sooner.

The card is at the defualt clock speed and i think it must have a really bad defective core as the flashing etc increases as you increase the resolution ie the stress on the chip.

I get no flashing in GL games such as quake3 but they hang after 20mins or so at low res. Its fine in windows though.

Basically I am goign to send it back but its christmas time so will leave me with no card for a couple of weeks. Is there anything else that it could be like the power not being enough for the agp card? I have a 300w psu but everything points to the core being bad as the results increase with stress

I have tried it with the cpu back at default speed although the system is stable for days running Seti at the high clock speed.

There is something about this on the Hercules troubleshooting page. If I remember correctly they suggest running the AGP ratio at 1:1 in your bios. Anyway check out the touble shooting or FAQ page at www.hercules.com
