My wife's Sennheiser HD440BT headphones are crapping out...one ear is dead. I'm seeing the HD450BT for $89 at Amazon, the HD450BT SE (alexa) for $79, the HD458BT for $69 at Best Buy. All three Sennhieser models are essentially the same...with only minor differences. (The 458s have a bit of red flashing on the band, the SE has Amazon Alexa built in)
Any other recommendations?

Heh, I saw the title and came in to suggest those Sennheisers ;)

I don't know which of those 3 to choose, I had the HD440BT for 2 years and was going to go for the HD450BT when I sprung for the Sony XM4s.

Think I got those HD440's for maybe $50 years ago and thought they were great for the price.

I bought these HD440s from you... :p

I have a pair of Sony 710s...she doesn't like them...too bulky, which makes the Sennheisers good for her. (the new Sony 720s are in my price range...but same problem...size)

That's hilarious! I recall selling them but didn't recall where or to whom.

I had two pair...one of them I had gotten for my mother and she never used, I think that's the one I resold (to you), and I gave my pair to a buddy. Pretty sure he's still using them.

I ordered the HD458BT set from Best Buy. HOPEFULLY they're satisfactory for "she who must be obeyed." :D

By all means...tell me more!
Wish I'd seen your post earlier, while you had a chance with Cyber Monday deals.

I have a bad tendency to accumulate crap I don't use, such as the refurbished Soundcore Life Q30 I got a year ago. See Amazon for reviews, people generally like them. I mainly use wireless earbuds, and before that corded earbuds. So it never made a lot of sense for me to buy wireless headphones. :) Unfortunately shipping costs are a deterrent against me ever doing some good housecleaning and selling off stuff I don't need. I won't join Facebook just to sell stuff locally.

I must have used these headphones 3 times last December. This thread has motivated me to try them again soon. :tearsofjoy:

Dammit...got the Sennheisers, gave them to my wife for her birthday...they refuse to pair with our Samsung TV. They pair with my Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra phone and my iPad just fine...but nothing I can do will make them pair with the TV. If I don't get this resolved, they're going back to Best Buy.

Does it have a 3.5mm head phone jack output? You can get a Blue Tooth dongle and that will then give you what you need. They are cheap.

Two more inexpensive options, from several etailers:

Thanks. The Sony's are "on-ear" so they won't work for her, but I ordered a pair of the Q20i cans.

Nice headphones...If they live up to the hype...and it sounds like you like them...but they're too big and heavy for her. I'll keep them in mind if I need a new pair for wearing when I'm doing outside work...or maybe for watching TV myself since my current Sony 710s are falling apart. NOT impressed with the build quality.

I have the A71 (not BT) and the A70's, and yes Id say they build quality isnt maybe the best, but Ive yet to have a problem with them. Of course I take care of my things and take them on and off my head with 2 hands, plus I sleep with them on at night (I have a strange sleeping environment) and again, have yet to show signs of coming apart, and have had them for about 6 months now, and are used all night and all day, so though they may feel like they would fall apart, have not.

If not sure on getting the BT version, if you search up Oneodio A71 and should find them used for $16, and as far as I can tell used means the box is busted up but the headphones are new for I bought 3 more at that price for fear they may break, and wanted spares, but not to sure Ill be using any of them anytime soon, but the wired and BT sound the same, and in BT mode they sound almost the same minus not getting as loud.

OH and Ive gone longer than 3 days on a single charge being used for about 12-15 hours in that time, and then charged back up. If you like I can see how long one charge will last from full to dead.

As for big and heavy, Id beg to differ on that front, for they are very light, and I have to pull them all the way out to reach my ears, and I have a HUGE head....

So simple, a caveman can wear them! :p

Has to be BT version so "she who must be obeyed" can watch her HGTV and Cooking Channel shows without bothering me...

The BT version is the same size as the A71, and I was wearing the BT version.
And yes, it is very simple :O

They re-opened the sale on the Q45 headphones. Ordered a pair. I can send back the ones she doesn't like.

Well...crap. The Q45 cans don't pair with the Samsung TV either. Samsung and Soundcore both say there's a compatibility issue.
(I started a thread in the TV forum looking for help with this)
