Hunt for sub-$400 19" LCD

For a friend,

I have concluded that these monitors are good:

1.) Hyundai L90D+ 8ms/6-bit 2-bit
2.) Samsung 930B ...
3.) Samsung 913T...
Added to the mix: 4.) Dell 1905FP

Uses: web surfing, all sorts of gaming, 3D gaming, 3D game development, amateur 3D-modelling, image editing/movie editing, so basically an all-around good monitor.

So, please post any other suggestions.

Also:

Can anyone tell me the difference between the 913T and the 930B, besides the fact that the 930B does not come with a DVI-D cable? Both use the same panel, correct?

Still the Dell? Any other opinions?

Added focus: Performance on VGA connection, or rather, making the performance difference between DVI and D-sub as low as possible (my friend's video card is currently only capable of analog output).

I guess ghosting is too subjective, and can't be totally related to response time (its more dependent on the user). For instance, I am using a 25-ms panel, and I am not bothered at all by ghosting.

However, your point is taken.

12 ms, 500:1 and 250 cd/m2 doesnt sound too much better on paper. Can you justify?

Cool, but the quicker the better. Its $500 right now.

Really? :Q

Actually ghosting is directly related to the response time. To test it, use solitaire. Grab a playing card and drag it across the screen. You will see the ghosting bady with 25ms. With an 8ms you will not see it. Anyhow if you are not bothered by ghosting, get the Dell. You will have much better color reproduction.

Edit:

Although, you said it was for a freind. Your freind may not like the ghosting on that Dell.

Heh, that's the problem, isn't it? The wonderful practice of giving gifts...

You are right. I really like the true 8-bit panel on the Dell, and the glowing reviews, of course.

Never mind. I saw a nice monitor that had better specs than the ones you're considering, but then realized it's only a 17"er.
