Well, if you have 2 tel. lines, 2 internet accounts and 2 modems you can use this.

My advice: don't use it for web surfing, just use it for downloading files with GetRight...

It would seem that this would well for web surfing and any downloads where the file can be retrieved in segments from mirrored sites.

For Web pages, once the initial page format is download, then the S/W splits up the requests for all the components across both connection.

Why the require 2 ISP accounts I can not figure out. A couple of years ago, you could do the same thing as long as your ISP did not complain about concurrent access.

:) if you have no access to broadband... then move!
or make lots of money and pull a line to your house.

but i think moving would be a better idea for most of you guys.

:) as funny as it may sound... i know lots of people that choose their neighborhood by the internet service choices that they have.

Win98SE had this functionality built in, I'd assume 2k, ME, and XP do as well (I've not gone back to a modem since 98SE, so I don't know if they do or not). Pretty easy to setup even, just plug the modems in and tell them to bind in the appropriate window.

I think the second line dials on demand as well, I could be wrong though. It's actually a good solution for an office who can't get broadband but needs basic internet access. Setup ICS on a 2k box with modem binding and dial on demand.

IIRC, a guy I used to work with tried to bind two 115k ISDN connections together, because he needed the speed and had no access to broadband. I don't recall if he ever got it working or not.

Yeah finally got cable here which rocks compared to my old 56k line. If I can get it anyone can. I like in a the country far from my provider. On major web sites I get 150-300k a sec.

Hey Shagga,
Did you know the reason you did not have BB in the UK was due to British Telecom playing the "parents game" by deciding the consumer (children) did not really need it - so they did not offer it to ya!

I'm actually using dial up right now here in Florida - even although BB is available via Time Warner (RoadRunner) - why you ask?

Well when I lived in Hong Kong I had BB (T1) from early 1999 - I ended up spending way too much online playing Q2, HL, CS etc that I have now decided to stick with dial up in order for me to break the habit of spending time "virtually" rather than in reality ;)

It could also be that I'm just a tight Scottish git and find US$8.95 per month for unlimited 56K access is preferable to US$49 per month for unlimited cable - but it is actually the time spent online gaming issue ;)

what about those dish things, like directtv, or those other line-of-sight companies.... gotta be better than 2 dial-ups.
