Was just going through my tax return this week and noticed something interesting on the form that I didn't pay attention to before. On I think like 46b of the 1040a there's a line that says "how much of this would you like to get back?" WTF??? They need to have a line on there with a check box that says "The whole d***ed thing you greedy little ****!" Sheesh. Like for some crazy reason I wouldn't actually want my entire refund back. Sheesh. No wonder "Government Intelligence" is an oxymoron. :D

Any of you seen anything humorous in the tax system of late? Or even in the past that you'd like to share?

It's there so that if you know you are going to have a big tax liability next year, you can just use some or all of your return to cover it. It doesn't usually make sense to do but its an option. ;)

Heck, logically I should seriously reduce my withholding so I'm not getting such a big refund. I'm giving the government an interest free loan. But I look at it as an enforced savings program that keeps me from having a bad surprise in February or March. :)

Gotta love owning your own home, that made a huge difference for me this year! :D

no. buying at end of year doesn't help much... as not much interest has been paid.

I find the dontation check boxes funny... especially the one for the presidential election fund.
