Just pulled my card out and let it sit out for a day as i was awaiting a new one, it didn't come so i put it back into the case and the idle temps are 5 degrees lower?? strange. Any comments?
 
it feels fortunate to have more time with you, so is behaving better in hopes that you'll keep him around a bit longer 🙂
 
You knocked some dust off of the heatsink?

Hate to hijack, but I gotta ask.

Are you able to run that P4 550 without it throttling? Have you run throttlewatch under a load like Prime95 to check?
 
did you install new cooling on it before? Its possible that some of the thermal paste has "sunk in" better while it was off, or somthing like that.
