Hummm, No Flu Shots, No Killer Flu

anybody else find this ironic? The past several years the AMA has told us "Get your flu shot, if not you could die" well this year, a very small precentage of the population got the shot and we are at the height of the flu season and guess what. No killer flu.
 
No you're going to die this time... really.

I ignored all the bs and didn't get one either; I'm still doing fine.
 
I lucked out and got my shot a month and a half ago. I was at the hospital for the birth of my son and wondered over to the other wing, which was going through the grand opening.. and they had free flu shots. There was no line, I filled out a SIMPLE form, I was done! I couldn't believe it, after seeing all the footage on TV of old people waiting outside grocery stores and clinics to get their shots.
and they had free sandwiches, desert, and pop! what a deal!!!


I think right now is the normal time for flu season to fire up.
 
Heh, it amuses me, it seems to me that the flu shot invokes flu season 😛

Nobody gets the shot, nobody gets sick (except the f'ing pope)
 
We have/had a few very sick people at work...I've been fortunate so far, but we'll see what happens.

Reporting back here....day 3 of my flu, Ive never had a fever for this freaking long!!!! It has not broken yet!!!
Many people at work just got it, and they canceled classes for today and tomorrow at a local school because so many students starting showing flu symptoms.

Agreed. Many times the flu shots have the wrong antigen, and they're worthless. I'd much rather invest in clean habits like not touching my nose and using hand sanitizer often.

 
My younger brother got the flu this week... took him out for a couple days, but he seems to be fine now...

i haven't had the flu since I was about 16 i think, but it turned into pneumonia... not a fun thing, having a lung tapped... :frown:
