what kinda of geek are you? You should be happy in your cube farm. Besides, think of it this way. With her in the office with a window getting all that sunlight, she's gonna get skin cancer and die.

i wonder if i can get a doctors note that indicates my 'depression' is caused by inadequate pay and a substatial raise is the only cure

if she worked for me id give her breaks and allow her to go outside and sit in her car...

sqeaky wheel should get the boot..this is just lame but i bet they figured shed sue or something so they gave in

Maybe it's legitimate. Being inside all day with no natural light makes most people depressed...some are just more vulnerable to it than others.

I think it's really none of anyone else's business what her doctor is prescribing for her, or the reasons for it. Maybe if you spent more time worrying about your own problems instead of hers, you'll be more productive at work and in life. Are you paying her medical bills? Her insurance? No you're not, so get the fvck over it and get on with life. Maybe she should complain about the hard-on in your pants all day long because of the viagra that your doctor prescribed for you.

Well, he did ask how lame everyone thought it was....

😛

My office doesn't have any windows. If I had one, I would be staring into it all day.
I kinda like that it looks the same in the morning or at night.
If I want sunlight, I can work from home over VPN.

Does the company have to give her an office with a window just because some doctor prescribes it?
What if she goes to another "Doctor" who says she is claustrophobic and prescribes her a large corner office?

I'm going to ask my doctor for one of these:

Dear Facilities Manager:

Mr. kranky is a patient of mine and after a recent examination I have found the following work-related issues. If you cannot make the necessary arrangements please notify my office at once.

Stiff neck: Requires cordless headset for telephone
Carpal tunnel syndrome: Requires ergonomic keyboard
Hypersensitivity to light: Requires LCD monitor
Lower back pain: Requires Herman Miller Aeon ergonomic chair
Heel spurs: Requires parking place close to building, and security cart to transport to and from parking lot
Agoraphobia and narcolepsy: Requires private office with cot to accomodate need for occasional naps

Im all for the last one. 30 min cat naps sure are refreshing.

Each and everytime time I work I have a window 😀. Driving for a living does have the odd benefit from time to time...

So get a doctor to write a note saying you are depressed due to not having a beautiful woman around to perform oral sex on you, and when your company does nothing to help you out like they did her, sue them and retire. 😉

Not only do I have a window...I also have a window that OPENS!!! Actually, its open right now, and because we're acote d'un riviere et le foret, I'm listening to bird calls and soft flowing water and jets flying far overhead.

Sounds like you don't have a lot of experience in the corporate office enviroment. Fact is a lot of woman do promote the "feel sorry for me" type attitude, so those that are actually doing the work sit back and continue to take the abuse. I've been the witness of one female who made a statement of getting pregnant just so she could get a back office job instead of working like everyone else. "Oh, I'm so pregnant, if only someone understood the pain and suffering women go through..." Blah, blah, blah... What happens? Two days later she's transferred to a nice cush job that would normally be awarded to someone who EARNED it.

Now even today in the company I work for, I'm seeing all over again. We have a pregnant employee and she has callled off work so many times, she has now been moved from full time to part time. Then she asked to have 8 weeks off for maternity leave! :Q I don' t think so. How about a perminent vacation? We'll grant her the 8 weeks and she can have the rest of the year off too! :| I understand some women may have some complications but I have yet seen anyone not ask more more then what they deserve. They got pregant from their own free and will, so guess what? You get what you got coming to you, so deal with it.

Give her a tissue for me, ok?

Sorry to burst your bubble but women are entitled by law to 12 weeks of maternity leave (FMLA). Deal with it and stop whining....why don't you whine about the predominantly male population of supervisors that think they are entitled to multiple smoke breaks during the day when no one else is. Next thing you will probably whine about is the fact that women that have given birth get to stay in the hospital longer than 24 hours.

I can see a point about getting aggravated with a person who is taking unfair advantage of a situation, but stick with the non-regulated perks then. And learn how to spell....the word is permanent.
