We have a couple of 4 spot feeders out all year. The Rufus hummingbirds do not migrate away from this area. We usually have 2 or 3 around.
This evening there were 7 out there buzzing around, dive bombing each other, chasing all over. At one point they settled down and all 7 were feeding at the same time. One of the feeders ran out and I took out more nectar and filled it while they waited, no more than a couple of feet away.

And they feed more than hummingbirds...

Man I wish we could lure in the bats. i love bats.
This morning there was an owl hooting when my wife left before sunrise. Love them too.
When you have to go out in the dark and one hoots right above you, you get that involuntary shiver. Makes me smile every time.

There were 5 out there battling for 4 spots, and I saw one fly up behind one that was perched, GRAB it by the top of its wings and drag it off the perch! For a while it was supporting the other completely. That's pretty damn rude, IMO.
