hummers and holidays

first of all i would like to wish you all a happy hannukwanaristmas.
i am currently in california spending the holidays with some relatives.
ive been thinking about family and my thoughts drifted to those working in iraq.
if any of you have been to southern california im sure u have seen copious amounts of hummer H2s drving around. with this i thought of a sort of plan/scheme.

with all of these H2s around being sold, how come the govt' cant provide enough armored hummers for americans serving in iraq? i knwo rumsfeld has promised to do something about it, but i've heard that "all they need is money to pay for the metal and to pay the welders."
so i was thinking of sending a letter to hummer dealerships and asking if they would be willing to donate a sum of money to a benefit (that i will need to create...) to help pay for the costs of armoring the humvees in iraq and afghanistan.
or if that doesnt fly i would still like to create a foundation that could take donations to send to iraq.

i still have to research the details (how to start up a fund, sending letters to dealership owners, or the CEO of Hummer, who to send the money to... etc)

so any ideas of how i could start something up or where can i look/call (im researchin on the internet) to start up this thing.

thank you any help/suggestions are appreciated.

happy holidays

I am still waiting for and am a firm supporter of "Operation Freedom Hummer Recall" Confinscate the blatently materialistic war vehicles and put them to GOOD use in Iraq where they should be.
Save money for the militarys already stretched budget and lose enviroment/road damaging dinosaurs.
Do it for your the red white and blue Bush should jack that hummer straight from you.

First the H2s are not the same military hummers.

Second, most of the armor has already been provided at this point.

i think its quite obvious the hummers we commonly associate rappers with arent the same hummer they use in iraq.

and all i wanted to do was to help speed the process of armoring the vehicles.

and im sure we are all aware of

time=money

article about the hummer situation

hummer bummer

It's Christmas night and my husband is putting the kids to bed.

I AM giving him a HUMMER tonight, and I'm not at all sorry!

im not saying you should feel sorry.
i just want to help some guys in iraq.
i havent received one helpful reply yet.

OK, I shouldn't have been so flippant.

I don't know what to tell you. I live in the most exclusive zip code in my state and there are lots of Hummers driving around. I think that the little silicone blondes who drive them are ridiculous. I am not quite sure how I got to live in the same neighborhoods, but make no mistake, I am not mistaken for one of them.

I just don't think that the H2 Market is very interested in helping anyone else out at this time. I could be wrong. But the ones I see can't even share a grocery store parking lot with any courtesy....

Why don't you get up off your well meaning ass and do even ONE little bit of research and then maybe you will have earned the right to be taken seriously.

Hummer is owned by GM. Google is your friend. Get started, get real, report back.

Yeah, the H2 is a Suburban with a Hummer look alike body. It would be worthless in anything like combat.

what do them soldiers know? just cause they're on the ground in Iraq don't mean they know better than Secy Rumsfeld... he said we got enough soldiers and armor, then we got enough... okay ??

I mean he was in Iraq last week for a whole day... not like he's talking from the back of his head or anything

we should put them in combat anyways to get rid of them.

They can't be much worse then what they have been stuck with....

You really need to look at a real hummer and an H2 side by side. Besides, it has been pretty well documented that the vehicles are being armored to the point that they can't catch a cold. The problem is that they are using light vehicles (hummers) when they should be using APCs or tanks. Armoring Hummers won't fix that. I love liberals. They always push for a fix that won't work. Puch for more APC's and tracked vehicles in theater if you want to save lives.
