I had a MSI K7T Pro2-A board that the Floppy drive controller went bad so I sent it back to MSI to get a new one I thought. Anyways I had Duron 600@1Ghz that I bought from my friend Compuwiz1 :) I unlocked the bridges with a defogger kit. Runs VERY stable and did the day I took it out. I got a replace board in Friday and it looks to be a referbished board and it looked like it. I had to strighten out one of the 3 pin headers for the fan to plug in.

I got everything hooked up and now it wont boot over 600Mhz! I can change my multiplier and volts to what ever I want but if I try to any settings over the default 600MHZ the PC locks up hard and I have to clear the CMOS to start over again. As you can see Im loosing 400Mhz now!! :( Ive flashed my bios to 2.7, 2.9 and even the lastest O/C bios and still the same results. The only thing I have changed is my Power Supply from a 300 to a 250. I guess I could try my 300 but didnt think a Duron needed a 300W P/S? While I was waiting to get this one replaced I bought a new Epox board / Tbird 1.4 CPU and put it into my Enight Case with the 300W is why I put this one in another Enlight case I had that had the 250 in it.

Heres were I need the advise I know MSI and others DONT guarantee thier board to O/C. I dont think it would be wise to call them and say hey you sold me a board that I can no longer O/C my Duron 600@1Ghz! So Im I SOL or what would you do in my shoes?

Thanks!

Maybe you could 'accidently damage it' or maybe use the pin headers you had to fix and all of a sudden notice that there are no pins because it was broken off before you got it.......... kind of cheap but....... if they willingly knew that they sent you a refurb/used board. May want to try that 300 W PS but doubt it will help you at all.

Me and my brother have been shanked before with Memorex burner, died after a few months, bought a new one, swapped and returned it without having to pay, luckily, restocking fee. The consumer doesn't deserved to get cr@ped on like that in my opinion......
