Location: Los Angeles, California.
Date: sometime next month
Occasion: a High School Prom.
Dilemma: Should I go?
facts:
1) I do not attend that High School, I am already in College (20).
1a) my friend is hooking me up with a girl from that school. She's my good friend's brother's friend's friend.
2) we never met face to face.
3) I never went to High School Prom. My school didn't have one.
4) I am not dying to go, (otherwise I wouldn't be asking this question, right? :) ), but I want to go just as an experience. Heck, I mean later on in your life your kids would ask you, "Hey, dad, how was your prom?" and I would have to tell them that I went to strip club instead.
j/k

anyway, I want to hear some opinion.

Only if you have a date, otherwise theres no point of shelling out $50-$100 for a dance u'll just sit around

If you don't know the girl that well it's going to get kinda boring.

It's going to get really boring if you don't know anyone else that's going to the prom.

well, I do have a date,.... OH, let me edit, I guess I left out some info.
and anything under 100 would be fine.

and Rallispec, my high school was in HongKong, it wasn't a "habit" to have a prom.

and the one only concern I have is what you said,
"we always made fun of the college people who came back our prom."
shit, it makes me look so desperate to goto a HS prom as a college student.

axelfox: I don't know yet. I will ask more later.

man, it is just a dance. You did not miss out on anything. Do you really want to spend 150 bucks for a few hours with a bunch of people you don't know.

Then go if you plan on dancing, then "getting your moneys worth" at her house after the prom.

But be prepared to be shelling out more than $150 unless you plan on coming in a dress shirt (hawaiin or something). Tux rentals, photos, jewelry, ring, shoes, and if you want to make a big scene, get the limo rental (several hundred dollars more)

Sure, why not.. It'd probably be fun.

I went to the jr. prom with my girlfriend.. I'm 20, she's 17. It wasn't weird or anything. It was actually pretty fun.

Although, It was almost disturbing being around a whole bunch of high school kids again. :Q

urgg, I have nothing better to do anyways on a Friday (or Saturday) night, and I AM expecting the worst (like, if she looks like Chyna). Heck, having dinnner with my dad's business friend is boring enough. and I have been through plenty of those. I don't get bored that easily. and if hell froze over and I am felt bored, I can always leave and drive, unlike those kids who need a ride from daddy or mummy.

and damn it dc, you should be encouraging me, you know I am a fob stuck at home playing CS, eating pizza and watching comedy central and nothing more.! :p

You're missing the main point:

<< 1) I do not attend that High School, I am already in College (20).
1a) my friend is hooking me up with a girl from that school. She's my good friend's brother's friend's friend.
2) we never met face to face.
3) I never went to High School Prom. My school didn't have one.

Don't go unless your 'friend' provides a picture or vouches (if s/he is reliable) for the girl.

150 bucks? I have a Tux, (but it's at home in HK), if shipping costs too much, I will wear a suit. Fukk paying 50 bucks to rent it.
I have a Car, and I think its nice enough for a girl to ride in it. if she insist in renting a limo, Fukk it. she pays for it.
jewleries and rings? the blings blings? you want me to become the IcyHotStunza? !!!!
but I will pay for those flowers thingie though.

and no I will not "get my money worth," and sorry b0mberman, I will not record it even if I do.
