I got this Duron 650 2 months ago. It was unlocked, so it was an older processor, I assume.

At first, when I tried to OC this on an A7V, it, to my dismay, could only run at 800 mhz. I was extremely mad, but the shop refused to exchange it, so I decided to work with the chip.

I started by having the voltage at 1.75, and had it run RC5 for nights on end. After about 2 week, I could push it to 824. 4 more weeks = 850. I could now run at 875 (8.58*103) fine.

I hope to reach 900 soon.

Burining in really works!

same for me! i got my Duron 700 just over 2 weeks ago, and the highest it would after the 1st attempt at unlocking, it would only go to 800. then, last Sunday, i managed to get it running at 910 (107x8.5). then i managed to get it to run stable at 928 (103x9), and then on Thursday, 936 (104x9), and then this morning, booted up and has been running at 954 (106x9). yet to try it any higher, but will burn it in for a while at this speed first!!!

BURNING IN ROCKS!!!

"Burning in does not work"

What has probably happened is you finaly figured out how to optimize a bios.

I think Compuwiz1 is probably right as I'm pretty sure that he tests a lot of cpu's. As he seems to have moved up from being the "Cc0 P3 at 1ghz guy" to the "The PIII,Celeron,T-Bird to 1.3GHz & Duron Guy".

It certainly worked for me. I been using the 1.003 A7V BIOS, with the same settings (cas3) for RAM. I did not change the BIOS. I swear, burning in works.

btw - I'm now at 900 Mhz stable. It would not boot at 808 when I first got it.

I really don't think that burning in works, at least not in my experience, my original athlon ran at 1008mhz for days when I first got it, then started having stability problems took it down to 980 and ran it there for a couple weeks, then it started having problems again, I put it to 910 and been there for 2 months now straight
