This seems like a solid deal. I haven't played a TC game and I have been avoiding Ubisoft/Uplay. Is this game series good and is having Uplay installed worth it?

Threads elsewhere devolved into Uplay Origin Steam bashing and comparisons. Dollar tier is full of old AAA titles, so why not. I'm in.

Boxed versions of some of these older titles allowed us to LAN play from one copy, good times. Steam and Origin offer some conveniences. Uplay is the least polished client. DRM sucks (don't get me started).

UPlay is a necessary evil. It would be nice if it was a bit more polished and UbiSoft's DRM was not so intrusive, but I believe they did get rid of the most obnoxious aspect, the "Always on" thing (somebody please correct me if I'm wrong). UPlay also lacks a ton of the support features you see in Steam (which is really more like a full-blown gamer community)

I had issues redeeming the keys, until I restarted the UPlay client. UPlay's lack of support features was particularly annoying when that happened.

I can say I enjoyed

Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six® Vegas
Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Chaos Theory
Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six® Vegas 2
Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Conviction™ Deluxe Edition
Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell®
Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon®
Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell® Blacklist™
Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Future Soldier™

I played Rainbow Six 3 but wasn't really into it. A lot of people liked it though.

So I 'd say it's a solid deal if you don't mind older games.

Does anyone know if the $1+ gets you guaranteed access to play RS: Siege Multiplayer beta? Me and some friends signed up for the beta, but we're still on the waiting list. :(

Oh man. Rainbow Six. Back when planning was actually important to a game. I'm in. $10 is a steal.

This! I used to play Rogue Spear as a freshman in the dorm in 1999/2000. It was funny because my hosting was one of the more sought-after 'servers' thanks to the university T1 line. Play at the Met with silenced MP5 + flashbangs FTW!

I would've done much better during my first year of college if I'd never discovered that game, haha

Thanks for the input and link about Uplay. I already have Steam and Origin installed and they don't seem too horrible. If Uplay is similar and not in the way it will be fine.

I have an SSD with my OS installed and 2 HDD's. How is Uplay when it comes to installing the games on a 2nd HDD? How well does it work when you need to move the games to another HDD? If I install on my 2nd non OS HDD where should Uplay be installed? Steam and Origin worked flawlessly when moving my games from one HDD to another HDD.

Do a search at slickdeals.net for Rainbow Six Siege Beta - Guaranteed Access Key for PS4, XBO, PC and you should find what you're looking for.

Two more games were added today for the "pay over the average" tier. If you've already purchased that tier you will get keys to those games.
