At this point in time I am no longer going to trust anyone and be a dick to everyone. First off I was supposed to get hooked up by a freind with a mortgage broker who could give me a good deal. He strong me long for several weeks and screwed me. Next I sold some candy machines to somebody who gave me a deposit and would give me the money to follow. I went by before I left florida and the guy said what are you talking about I dont want them. Then why did you put candy in them and give me a deposit? The cops said Im screwed .File small claims. The next guy was my body shop guy that I hung out with,drank beers with and shit. He said he would buy my funiture and gave me some money and mail me the rest. I gave him a key before I left so he could get stuff out of the garage. I get a realtor to go over to the house to try and sell it and the locks are jammed. My father in law goes over today and drills out the locks. The house ie ransacked. The diswasher,stove,chaderliers and even the freaking light bulbs. I could get over the fact that I got screwed by the $400 still owed but the fact that some lowlife even took the light bulbs. He was the only other person with a key but the cop said I cant really proof anything. Any advice besides fuc$$ everybody!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I guess my english sucks because Im a little upset at the moment, are you perfect. F' off then. Yes I may have been stupid but I knew the guy for almost a year. I hung out with him at his shop and shot the shit etc.. We talked about shit how he hated his girlfriend etc.. I thought I knew him. Guess I was was overly trusting and have ,earned my lesson but man are you guys harsh.

I hope you learned something from your rant. Read it again. See your mistakes? Never do business until you get ALL the money up front. If you are taking payments, get the terms under contract. Never give anyone a key to your place. You should have had your FIL open the house for your friend, spervise the move (after collecting the rest of the $$ in CASH) and re-lock the house.

I dont mean to be a dick to anyone but the point that they want to attack my education because of a post. My grammar may have have been perfect but was a little upset. My broker said he could get me financed no problem. I have 30 emails through a 3 week period saying everything is going as planned and we will close in time. The day before we were supposed to close he changed companies and told use be email. Not only changing every term we had agreed upon. The people selling the house got scared and sold the house to someone else. We went to another mortgage motrgage company, got excellent terms and got it closed in ten days.

Don't let him know you already struck out with the police - suggest that your police officer buddy told you that you're being awfully nice to let the guy just return the stuff. "He told me to press charges, but I don't want to do that to you; maybe you just misunderstood what I meant by furniture."

Oh, by the way, I got screwed by a mortgage broker once; I lost out on the deal of a lifetime: 4 bedroom farmhouse, 117 acres, huge barn, pond, woods, freshly seeded fields, stream, 5 bay garage, another storage building... $90k
Mortgage broker screwed me over good on that one; we even transferred our kids into the new school district when we were supposed to close.
So, I feel your pain. In fact, I was more upset than I'd be if someone took my lightbulbs. I'm still having blood pressure problems that began with the stress of that incident.

The guy was supposed to give me a total of $400 and gave me $60. Im in contact with the neighbor and she remebers a truck leaving with stuff. Hopefully she can prove something.

lol, our broker had our credit run dozens of times. Fortunately, it all counts as one incident. Unfortunately, since we never closed on that house, it screwed us slightly when we sought financing on the next house (which we did successfully)
The thing that gets me also is the fact that until the day before we were supposed to close he even said everything was ok. Then doesnt return phone calls,emails etc.. It was my friend of 20 years best friend. Doesnt mean crap I guess but I though different.
They dusted for fingerprints and didnt come up with anything. After my phone call last night to him I got a call this morning at 7am from him saying it was a misunderstanding. I said he could have everything in the house left meaning all the furniture he bought, not everything bolted down. They are returning most of the stuff. They supposedly lost my phone number and address. The m'f'er had the number programmed in his phone and didnt answer his phone in weeks. Even his place of business.

Sadly this seems true.
Why in the hell are you hanging out with low life scum and then expecting them to be honest and trust worthy with you?
There are plenty of good people out there in the world, but they need to earn my trust, before I go giving them shit up front or the keys to my house.
A little common sense goes a long ways IMO.
