Here's the computer at the bottom of the page, I'm having trouble with. I recently got a digital cable box. I hooked it up to the stereo along with the computer and the DVD player. When the all three are hooked up, a hum comes from the stereo. But, if I unhook the cable box, it goes away. Or, if I unhook the computer it goes away. Or if I unplug the computer but leave it hooked to the stereo, it goes away. And this hum happens no matter what button on the stereo you push. Video 1, Video 2, or DVD. Any ideas?

It happens sometimes when connecting computers to stereos.
Things like this are made to get rid of it.

I am no expert in the audio area, so maybe there is a way to get rid of it without buying something.

Some sort of interference.

Keep all the cables as short as possible, tie them up, and them away from power lines.

If you got a rats nest back their that would be my #1 thing to fix.

you have a ground loop between the cable and stereo. The grounds are not at equal potential.
