Now they just need to team up with Xbox and stream to Live like Netflix. Baby steps, but soon we can watch all of our tv shows "on demand" and streaming.

That's exactly what they are afraid of. See Hulu's ban on Boxee.

It's not always an option sadly, but I do prefer it when it shows up for me.

That's not Hulu so much as it is the content owners (ie the studios and tv networks). They're not ready for competition for the TV screen yet for the same content they are already showing.

It's going to happen sooner or later, especially as home grown "tv shows" are getting higher and higher quality with a free download cost.

I already subscribe to movies (netflix), gaming (live), and music (zune). I'd much rather pay for tv subscription where I can watch whatever shows whenever I want, instead of cable. The DVR is just a step in between.

Hulu is owned by a large content provider, so they are always going to have that pushback on it.

I agree that it will happen eventually. Consumer demand will make it happen, but it will be a slow process.

I was watching Hulu without commercials just fine on XBMC until a week or so ago, Hulu Fails ATM.

I don't mind the occasional commercial as long as they mix them up. Too often you end up seeing the same commercial 2 or 3 times during a show.

I always thought this was weird too.

You mean I have to wait an extra minute to find out if it's lupus? Blasphemy!

-EDIT- Turns out it's not lupus. But I still want my minute back!

And that's exactly why TV torrents are so wildly popular. Pirates beat content owners on service.

I think my new favorite phrase is "legally criminal and ethically dubious".

easy enough to do. PlayOn software works pretty well and will allow you to stream hulu, youtube, and some others to the Xbox.
