Hulu Ads - More and longer

Used to be that there would be 1-2 30 second or less ads. Now there's 2-3 and up to 1.5 minutes long.


Yeah, I get to watch stuff for free but their free stuff is getting to be less and less as well since they started Hulu Plus.
 
You know what's worst? Comedy Central site for watching episodes. Sometimes there are so many string of commercials, I forget I wasn't watching TV.

It went on for like 5 mins.
 
Wow, they are doing long-ass ads like that even on the Plus accounts now? No wonder nobody ever talks about Hulu these days, ridiculous.
 
I keep thinking this is a business model that will never work, yet Pandora keeps going strong, and has even removed it's limitations on the free accounts. I don't know how.

I thought I heard Hulu might go up for sale, so more ad-time could equate to a more valuable asset, no?
For me it's simply another 30 seconds of dead silence - peaceful. '-_-'
 
Ever try watching a movie on TBS? They'll take a 1.5-2 hr movie and stretch it out to 4 hours with commercials. One I remember had 5 minutes of commercial for every 4 minutes of movie, it was ridiculous.

Worse yet, they tend to cut out about 10 minutes of the actual movie (usually the good parts), and play at at 105% speed so they have more time to show commercials.

I wonder when Netflix will start showing ads? They already pissed off their users twice this year... time to make up some of that lost revenue from people who are already fleeing in droves 🙂

They don't. For me, over the air cable fills most of the gap. The games I want to see that aren't locally broadcast send me to a sports bar.

In reality, I miss MNF. But most games I don't watch if my team ain't playing, so that maxes out to two games a year usually.

$8 (Hulu), $8 (Netflix), $8 (netflix disks) ,$0 (Crackle), = $24

Cable bill was usually at least $120 with the sports packages and HD.

Savings of $95 per month. So at the end of the year, I have $1140 that I didn't spend on TV channels that I don't use (or seldom use). Since I usually go to a sports bar every month or so anyway to watch a game that isn't local, that's a net savings of $1140.

For me, it's worth it. I don't watch $120 worth of broadcasting every month. When I watch TV, I can find the things I like on Hulu or Netflix without the need to pay for a BS DVR service fee of $6 a month, plus the cable bill itself. A minutes worth of commercials... big deal.
 
i have netflix and have been considering hulu plus . . . it's still fewer ads than tv.... besides, it's a chance go to the bathrrom
