i HAVE A FILE SERVER IN THE GARAGE AND IT is running win2k pro. I have all the files just shared with the network. Now I found that some mp3 and mpeg files do not share correctly. I get a "access denied" on 1/3 of the files there. For some reason, nearly a thrid of any new files I toss in cannot be accessed from any other computer on the network. Any ideas on what I need to do? (the other rigs are running win98se and win xp.

What you can do is look in the security tab of the folder properties and make sure that you see the user you use to log in and have full control. You can also click on the advance tab and then go to the owner tab take owner ship of the file. Select the user and check the "replace owner ...." check box and click apply. This will give you owner ship of all the files.
