damn, someone beat me to both the 42 and Dont Panic Quotes 🙁

Anyone remember the infocom text based game on the Commodore 64?

I never could wake myself up once I hitchiked the first time,

Smell

arghhhh!!

The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is one of the best books I've ever read. I'm also a big Douglas Adams fan in general (see sig).

I especially liked the bit about the rock group that was so loud that the audience was like 10 miles away and the band performed from orbit....or the planet that was so overpopulated that you were weighed when you arrived, and if you didn't weigh the same at departure the difference was surgically removed or added, as the case may be....

"resistance is useless..."

Yeah, Monty Python was awesome - We have PBS, but I never watch it! 🙂

I'm definitely gonna pick it up after work, just wanted to get some ideas about wtf I'd be reading!

Thanks,
-Ben-

Planetfall was good, but too easy.
Hitchhikers was one of the hardest.

I always loved Suspended.

From the HHGTTG:
"It is an important and popular fact that things are not always what they seem. For instance, on the planet Earth, man had always assumed that he was more intelligent than dolphins because he had achieved so much - the wheel, New York, wars and so on - while all the dolphins had ever done was muck about in the water having a good time. But conversely, the dolphins had always believed that they were far more intelligent than man - for precisely the same reason."

There's a BBC miniseries-type-thing that kinda skips around the first three books. It's actually really good even though it was made in the (guessing) mid-80s (?). If you look around, you can DL the whole thing.

I've got the DVD set! 😉

Me too. It wasn't terribly expensive, so I went for it. I'm nervous about the movie though.
