Smartums would use a host file to modify the dns cache that sits on the gateway + a traffic filter to block out all interactive/video ads.

I use Opera with no extensions and get no ads whatsoever except in https.

like the ads inserted into hulu and youtube as commercial breaks.

My method you also block out all tracking scripts like analytics and such. Saves you bandwidth and time in the end not even loading these things.

I know, but they shouldn't have been changing that option despite my instruction because the instructions were specifically meant to present threads which were not that old. They described it like they were seeing that WITHOUT changing the option. I wasn't asking how I could see what they see but rather asking why they were seeing it instead (assuming they followed instructions).

THERE'S the answer I'm looking for. Anyway, someone misinterpreted the intent of this thread* and I have my answer, so let it die, PLZKTHX.

Edit: I see it's been moved to issues. I didn't put it here because I didn't think it was an issue. I just thought some people were seeing older pages than others.
