Huh? I have DirectX 8.2!

And its messing up my stuff. How do I get rid of it and install 8.1 again?

When I try to run most games in DirectX they perma minimize. I've re-istalled my drivers so thats not it.

I have WinXp Pro, a Radeon 8500, and according to the PC gamer cd I just got, DirectX 8.2

If you need anymore info pleaze let me know.

sure its not directx 8.1b? ( i think that is what it was called)

You've been playing Cobat Flight Sim 3 huh, it adds DX 8.2 during setup. DX 8.2 is just DX8.1b with a directplay update, it shouldnt change res settings.

Dumb question but, have you tried hitting Alt-Tab?
