Huh. A netbook with Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit?

I was just checking to see what manufacturers were doing with netbooks now that Win7 is out. Dell seems to still offer them on their website with WinXP or Ubuntu with Win7 starter edition as a 30 dollar option. However, places like BestBuy seem to have them with Win7 starter installed.

But some genius at Acer decided to but Windows 7 Home premium 64bit on a netbook that comes with, I am guessing, a max of 4 gb ram.

That is quite smart.

A netbook isnt going to be used for much more than checking email ...

doesnt need 64bit.. doesnt need 4GB Ram...

but they can put it on, charge more, and the idiots will buy it cuz its "64bit so it must be better"

Is that memory actuall being addressed, or is it installed? Did that change?

In XP and Vista, you could install 4GB, but only 2.75-3.25GB would actually be addressed.

This again? It says the same for 2000 and XP. Read how Windows addresses memory.

What exactly is the problem here? There are more benefits to 64bit than increased memory.
