I suggest checking out Tivo Community. There is lots of information there including the current offer to existing subscribers (less than $200 delivered and installed) and on how upgradeable the HDVR2s really are (I've upgraded both of mine to 120G each, but they've disabled the USB connections in the current software).

I looked at tivocommunity, but I don't see the way to get one for under $200? Any links to posts or ways to get to that point would be helpful.
Thanks.

Darn. ABT won't sell to me, because I live in a NRTC (Pegasus) area. Oh well, I guess I'll just go to best buy and get one.

anyone know if you can jury rig one of these things to act like a hidef over the air box? i have a high def tv, and 4 outta the 5 major networks are over the air HD in my area. i dont want to pay for satellite, and i surely dont want to pay $600+ for a HD tuner. I have the antennea, but the tuners are so damned expensive...

Despite the model being called HDVR2 . This is not a high def receiver. Just an standard resolution PVR. (But a nice one)

FYI-- The model may be "HDVR2", but this is most definitely NOT a high-def receiver. Just regular DirecTV signals.

Edit: Beat me to it.
