Hugging etiquette

Depending on your relationship with someone do you hug them differently? This is how I hug.

Family - I don't hug family (I'm asian 😱)
Friend (girl) - Arms criss cross her body (one arm over her shoulder, other arm under the opposite arm)
Friend (guy) - One arm hug with handshake in the middle (bodies don't touch)
Someone I'm dating - Arms around her waist (her arms up and around my neck)
Girlfriend - You figure it out 😉
 
I'm 6'5" so hugging is always awkward for me. I didn't know there was etiquette though. Just do it yo!

I think my left arm goes around her shoulder and my right one goes around the waist. I'll grab her ass a bit also.

Sometimes both my hands are around her waist.

I find that I accidentally touch their bra clasp when I hug the femmes... I wonder what they think about that.

I'm Greek, so my grandmother and mother give me a hig and a kiss on each cheek every time I come back from college. My dad, being the consummate Greek father, says something to the effect of "So you're at the top of all your classes, right?" Then he smiles in spite of himself and hugs me anyway, unlike the typical Greek dad. 🙂

I will hug anyone. I don't care. I feel sorry for the people saying they dont hug anyone or only been hugged a few times. that is just sad.

Guys - try to avoid this, but if it comes about somehow I only use one arm, pat the back twice, and get the hell out of there.

On a related note - Ever notice girls who try to hug at an angle so their chest doesn't push against you? What's up with that?
