Took this list off ByteSizeDeals. There's also a big thread about this going on at CAG. I know there's a thread here on $4.99 games on bestbuy.com, but those games are sold out. This list is for Best Buy B&M, and is much more comprehensive.

All games are $4.99 unluess noted. If it's priced different at your BB store, have them scan it (it will probably scan at $4.99).

Way to go, BB! I wonder if any Pro-BB/Employee comments will show up on www.bustbuysux.org next week, since the BB employees got their "bonuses" today.

I visited two stores and found one copy of Beyond Good & Evil and Wario World for Gamecube. Neither store had anything else on the list.

Depends on the store's policy, and what the intent of the clearance was. Back in '93 I worked at Office Max (then BizMart) and we had a blow out on Sega Genesis stuff, at like $5 a game, and an ad in the paper. Management only allowed small portion of the games to be sold internally (we were limited to 1 or 2 games each as I recall), as to make sure we had stock for actual customers. No one had a problem with that. Of course, employees were still telling everyone they knew to come when we opened to buy games-- but that was kind of the point-- to get people in the store. Even though it was a clearance anyway, it was also promoted as a loss-leader.

If it was unadvertised, then I guess it's a different situation. But I shudder to think what things like Black Friday specials will become if this 'employee buying' trend continues.

I notice how all employees AND customers tend to complain about everything.

Went to BB during lunch. Picked up Pac-Man Fever and Indiana Jones and the Emperor's Tomb for my PS2. The guy there saw me going through the games with a tiny printout of the list in my hand and asked if I was looking for the 4.99 games. I said yep, I got the list online. He told me that some of the games on the list are wrong and that he'd check the prices for me before going to the register. I also had Monster 4x4 with Monster Jam technology (??) but it turned out to be 29.99.

they make minimum wage, they put up with a lot of shi7 from the managers, and raises and promotions are extremely difficult to comeby. then again, they get these crappy discounts on overpriced merchandise and then once in a while get lucky on some clearance deals. golly, they sure have it good

BTW, Best Buy employee discount is extremely good (5% over cost or something close...) I had a friend who worked there and it really gives you an idea on what stuff is overpriced (car audio, cables, and accessories usually have more than a 100% markup)

Crappy discounts? Let me see if I can recall a few from when I used to work there....

$36 printer cable = ~$6 employee (this is true for almost any cable in the store)

$2000 television = ~$1300-1500

$600 receiver = ~$200-400

The problem is that you just don't make quite enough money to take advantage of a lot of the really great things you can get with your employee discount. But, that's why having friends who work for Best Buy is such a great perk. :)

Went to the East store in Madison, WI this evening and the only thing I found was Freedom Fighters for PS2 (last copy). Buddy of mine went to the West store and didn't find anything. Thanks for the heads up though.

Thanks for the Heads Up OP.

Went to a BB in CT but found very little. Did get Disney Skate Adv for the kids on XB but that was all that I saw in the store. No special place for em, just mixed in with all the regular inventory. Lotsa Shrek 2 games for all platforms (big surprise).

Picked up 4 games from the Pentagon city store yesterday. I met a guy there who had a similar print out :D He was kind enough to give me a copy of each game he was able to find.

Most of these games were on sale for $9.99-$14.99, so most stores are tapped out. They had a copy of the crappy BattleBots for the GBA at my local BB's, but nothing else.
