Company spokesman Ronnie Chappell reiterated on Tuesday that Thunder Horse had appeared to stabilize on Monday

Add that to the fact that the platform was not even online yet. I don't see how this would affect gas prices.

In other news: Gas prices took a 20 cent per gallon jump to match the 20 cent per gallon jump that pre-empted the hurricane to cover damage that hadn't happened yet but just did.

I would hope that even if it was operating it wouldn't have made gas prices jump up. How much oil could it really provide?

You haven't figured out that oil companies will use a strong breeze as an excuse to raise prices?
