Coastal Connecticut is clear at the moment. So far the really severe stuff has gone north and south of us.

If people in New England would actually pay attention to the weather reports coming in from the rust belt; they would know what will happen in 2 days time.

In Natural Sciences (H.S.) we had to predict the weather 1,3 7 days out for a semester. Performance had an impact on the semester grade.

All one had to do was pick up the Boston Globs and look at the weather outlook for Buffalo. Temp and precipitation dead on for 1 day lead. Then look at Chicago for the 3 day lead and the West Coast for the precip for 7 day lead.

There is useful information in the weather maps besides what is at your door at the moment. Plenty of chance to then prepare for trouble.

We do get plenty of thunderstorms and that is what it ends up being 99.9% of the time. They very rarely ever form into tornadoes and touch down.

.

Sure, cause if you know a tornado is possible you ummm, what exactly do you do? For your information this severe weather has been accurately predicted for days. Starting on Sunday the weather forecasts mentioned that strong storms were likely for this area at this exact time. The computer models NAILED IT. So what? That doesn't stop it from happening.

Just heard the total is now four dead. Thunderstorms coming into Boston now.

edit - nonstop thunder and lighting. Pretty cool. Around 5:30pm we were in a field with other dog owners watching the lightning from far away, can't believe it's been going around us til now.

NY/NJ was suppose to get hit with some hail and tornado warnings.

So far two tornados have hit in Western Mass. as far as I'm aware: in Springfield and Westfield. Casualties: 4 deaths.

Heh, on Memorial day I skied a 20 inch POWDER day at Snowbird Utah with a 190 inch base.

Id like to thank a little Latin momacita named La Nina!
