These price drops are good, and are meant to match Intel price drops in August 22nd. Athlon FX line will always remain @ 800+ US, it meant to be an ethusisast processor, not to mention they discontinue older model immediately.

Socket 939 Athlon 64 3500+ is alot better price now, 346US is alot better then beofre but still expensive in my book.

I don't consider Intel loosing if they can still sell their processor at such good prices despite the fact that AMD is somewaht better.

So let's see.

Athlno 64 3500+ 346US 144mm2
Athlon 64 3400+ 288US 144mm2/193mm2 depending
Athlon 64 3200+ 227US 144mm2/193mm2 depending
Athlon 64 3000+ 189US 144mm2
Athlon 64 2800+ 173US 144mm2

In August 22 or around there

Pentium 4 3.6GHZ 417US 112mm2
Pentium 4 3.4GHZ 278US 112mm2/131mm2
Pentium 4 3.2GHZ 218US 112mm2/131mm2
Pentium 4 3.0GHZ 178US 112mm2/131mm2
Pentium 4 2.8GHZ 163US 112mm2/131mm2

Yeh AMD will be price slightly highher then Intel equivalent in August. until you get to Athlon 64 3500+ This goes to show AMD's new found confidence. i think Intel still got an upper hand in yield rates though.

coldpower27 your price are off on A64's cursory look at pricewatch shows the following/

$288 - Athlon 64 3400
$204 - Athlon 64 3200
$163 - Athlon 64 3000
$141 - Athlon 64 2800

Anyway folks, at $141 for the A642800 it's way less compeling these days to get into mobile XP's:)

Hey I have an unopened AMD64 3200 that I bought last week for like $282, does anyone want to trade straight up for the AMD64 3400+:)

I didn't think so:(

Damn price drops!

I wanted the 3400+ all along, but it was too much, now it is the right price..

What to do now......
