Huge Pain in the Butt Windows/hardware problem

Ok, well I had a problem getting my computer to startup windows with a new DVD drive in. I talked to someone at microsoft and they suggested I try using the repair option on the windows installer CD.

So it went through the first part no problems. Then it restarted and started the next part of the installation. It starts "installing devices" i believe, starting at 39 minutes left. As it goes on a bit, it asks for a nvidia nforce network bus cd. I can either put in the cd and it goes on, or i can just click out since the guy I talked to said I can do it later(I assume it doesn't matter which I do, as I have tried both).

After another minute or so, a popup comes up saying that certain hardware(nvidia 7800 GT) is not certified or w/e by windows tag or logo or some other thing. it asks if i wish to continue. The problem is, a few seconds before this message comes up, I lose control of the mouse and keyboard so I can't get past this box. The rest of the screen is fine, the screen changes, just I can't pass that box and the progress bar is held up at that point.

I have no idea what to do. btw, I unplugged the problem drive already, and tried a ps/2 mouse instead of the usb one I was using. If anyone can help, i'll have your children
