These are the valves running to the houses. They were running through the towns shutting off any they could get to.

Well, that does sound... unexpected. When i hear of gas explosions it's often the large pipelines that they built housing tracks over the top of. Nevermind then, I'll eagerly await the details.

Bonus for the paranoid. This comes from the Mass. State Police. And one of the bookmarks is the Resistence Calendar.

I bet Alex Jones will be all over this.

That's insane. I read on reddit that they were just working on some of the lines in the area recently (though I'm not sure if that's true). If so, somebody really f'd up. They better be packing their bags and buying a one-way ticket to some third-world country.

I almost went up to there to go hiking today. Crazy. Happened right before 5pm so many people were still at work so it could have been worse. So far, I've heard 7 people sent to hospitals, surprised it's not more. They were supposedly doing maintenance on the main gas line. Don't know how they could have realized that the pressure in the gas line was becoming so great to cause this mess.

1 Fatality now and ten in the hospital. A friend who lives in North Andover had a neighbors house across the street blow up. Another friend isn't able to go home due to the evacuation and is staying at hotel for the night and will go back to see if her house is okay in the morning hopefully.

If you are ever in the mood for a good scare read up on the natural gas transmission system. The pressure levels are astonishing - Up to 1500 psi - and they are everywhere in the Northeast.

So convenient and cheap but Jesus fuck that is a lot of pressure in ancient pipes right under your feet.

Christ, they must have crews coming in from other states, no fire department in the country can come close to handling that many explosions and structure fire.

Yes some from NH and surrounding areas are there too, I wonder how much water pressure there is? How many fires can be fought at the same time.

Please let this be equipment failure or human error and not foreign hackers mucking around...
