In comparison, the Halifax explosion was more than 100 times bigger than this one.

It actually was like a small nuke.

The Tianjin explosion 'looks' much larger than the actual force it released due to the amount of gasses being burned. An explosion with the same 21ton force caused by strictly TNT without any large amount of flammable gas/fuel/oil/chemicals may have appeared much smaller.

They need to improve cameras on smartphone so they can do 16x9 video.

yep... this tornado footage suffers from the same thing... another sweet video that deserves more than a million views though. I suppose it's a matter of people holding the phone the right orientation and then being able to do some simple processing before uploading to youtube. :)

What was the point of your comment then?

Exactly what it says. Do I really have to explain a simple sentence for you? They give the death toll and I was surprised it was so low given a variety of factors. I have seen other disasters increase much faster

Then I reiterate that your comment was dumb. No one should expect a real death toll while the fires were still burning and the area is evacuated.

I don't think you know what the word 'reiterate' means as you can't repeat something you didn't say. Your failure to grasp meaning continues if you think any comment I made was in reference to the number being final. Given the ambiguity of my statement any assumption on your part that it was shock at the expectation of a low final death toll is premature as my views as to the cause or expectations of the small number are not enumerated upon in my statement. Any inferences to the contrary show a lack of comprehension on your part. Furthermore the fact that the number will change does also not preclude it from being real given the evidence currently at hand. It may not be the expected final outcome but the number is still a real and reported number.

thats the door that exits the convenience store

Yeah looked like he was almost looking out the window because he potentially saw/heard something then the doors suddenly collapse in on him, then what used to be walls and store go flying around everywhere.

There's no way that guy is alive and if he is, is probably severely injured.

I feel bad for all those cars. Same thing happened in Japan, a few cars caught fire and then they all burned, probably cause they were parked so close together... Oh, and the people, I feel bad for the people too.
