I can tolerate the top, since it actually ties in the Anandtech main page to the forums. Granted, I personally am not likely to visit the main page any more often now, but I do think it'll encourage/remind others that the articles are what made Anandtech a well known place to begin with.

In essence you can. I use Proxomitron and I see nothing up there. I have it block those ads.
