huge accident on hwy 99 in Fresno

Wow...the fog was pretty non-existant here this morning, for the first time in several days.

Fucking idiots here in the Central Valley who outdrive conditions...FTL

Far too often, these idiots drive like it's mid-day, sunshiney and dry, when visibility is 10 feet and you can barely see the end of your hood. Plus, all that fog makes everything wet and slick...as long as they can (barely) see the taillights of the car/truck in front ot them, they keep the pedal to the metal...till the car in front of them hits some other vehicle...and the chain reaction ensues.

It's not localized, people everywhere are idiots, and nowhere is it as apparent or frightening as the way they drive. Ok, maybe the way they vote is pretty bad too.

Exactly. I drive 99 to Fresno from Selma(goes thru the area where the accident occurred) everyday on the weekdays and always have people passing me doing 75+ when the fog is really bad. It seems like every year a 40+ car pileup happens on the freeway on a day the fog is bad. I'm just glad it didn't happen yesterday, else I could have been involved.

Damn, crazy mess.

1) Slow down if visibility drops or road surface conditions deteriorate
2) Have a look in your rear view mirror - if anyone's anywhere behind you and you're going slow, put on your hazard lights. If you can't see a damn thing out the back because of fog, put on your hazard lights.

If I'm on a highway and there are cars stopped ahead for construction (I-80 in Pennsylvania turns into a parking lot constantly), I will put my hazard lights on to alert people of the possible danger - brake lights don't always just mean that a vehicle has slowed down a bit, they can also mean that it's stopped.

is fog now considered a national disaster in commiefornia?

Shouldn't you be having sex with a cousin?

EDIT: Now excuse me while I go get gay married and redistribute wealth to the peasants, all the while burning the American flag and not supporting the troops.

Crazy, the fog was pretty bad on 198 just east of Hanford this morning. Guess its that season again.

People do the same in SoCal.
