hub compatibility?

The lan I am on right now uses only OLD Boca 10 base hubs, which work fine, but seem to have issues when trying to link other brands to them. I attempted to hook up a linksys hub via the link port, and could not get a connection between the hubs. When using another Boca hub, though, it connected fine. My problem now is that the Boca hubs are very hard to find, and I need to link up another one to expand our lan. Any ideas on a compatible hub?

Are you using the correct CAT5 cable.

if they are just hubs, then you shoudl be able to mix and match with no problem. Your mistake must be in the cable/port combo you are choosing.

you connect a straight patch form the uplink to a port inn the higher up hub

hub2 and hub3 are connect in their uplink port to a non-uplink port in hub1.
