www.paypal.com is the domain, and the https:// indicates that the page is encrypted with SSL. This is exactly what you want if you are making a payment.

Yes, a big 10-4 to what everyone else said. Although in the grand scheme of things, nobody is going to steal your credit card by listening to the traffic between you and the webserver. The HTTPS protocol is nice and all, but your credit card is in far more danger from poorly protected online databases than anywhere else.
