I was rather unimpressed with the entire situation, but then I do not all the details.

It appears that the blue caprise had spotted at more than one of the shootings, but it also appears it was never pursued as a lead. The investigation seems to have stayed centered around that crazy white guy driving a white van.

I agree with you. The Caprice was pulled over several times by other law enforcement agencies, but they were never cited for any issues. However, this doesn't all directly relate to Chief Moose. Yes, the investigation could have been handled quite a bit better. However, I think the whole deficiency points to the same issues that were uncovered after the attacks on 9/11. Many different departments, agencies, etc. all have their own databases and methods of tracking bad individuals. However, these systems need to be opened up so they can communicate with other agencies - or other agencies need to be able to have access to this data so the important details don't get overlooked.

As an IT professional, I feel very frustrated when I hear how the people that are assigned to protect us are not embracing the IT technologies that are available today.
