http tunnel? what? who?

Ok I have a problem. I am on a t1 at localtion a.But it is very filted you barely can surf the web.There are alot of restrictions on the proxy like no porn,chat, other sites you can go to.

I was wondering if there is any way i can tunnel to my home computer and use http from location a to my house and let the request go throu my houses computer so i can see the sites i wanna go to?
I have been thinking about this for a while so I came here for advice on what i do to get this around this little problem.
 
If you are the Administrator for the router, firewall, or proxy then there are many ways to do it.. if you are not then the block is by design and not a "problem". To "tunnel" out will most likley break a few work/school policies and could get your in series trouble if the administrator finds out.
 
no the ports are not blcoked......the content is filtered!

and why would it matter if i have acess to the router and stuff??
I woudl have to do the configureing on the home computer not their service!

If you administer the router, firewall, or proxy there are numerous ways you can allow just your workstation through to browse the internet free reign since some network administrative duties require this.

If you do not then circumventing the in place filtering or port blocking is a no no and the best way to do so is to buddy up to the administrator of the aformentioned services and see if they will allow your workstation through.

You have to look at the bigger picture. It is not just your computer/network you are messing with but your companies/schools network also because you are passing the data back through the internet through their firewall through their proxy right into their expensive network.

I am sure the data on the network doesn't seem that valuable to you but I am sure it is to those who pay the administrators of the network you are trying to circumvent.

Not trying to stop you from learning.. and I hope you pick through this last post to find a good answer to your question on how to accomplish your goal.
 
the admin will not let me go throu! thats why i wanna tunnel throu my computer.I can dialup into my home computer and do it that way but i dont wanna use dialup because i can use proxy over t1 and it will be fast as hell

You should listen to the advice given here! What you want to do will get you into BIG trouble. It could result in serious consequences that you will not like.

dude trust me i wont get in any trouble.and any way i can just use a dial up account and get on with that which is what i am doing right now but i wanna leach their bandwith which they are offering me!

I am listing ! But the guy is not explaing why it would not work and he is rambling on about something that does not pertain to my situation
 
The reason most people won't help you is because you are trying to do something on someone else's network that they specifically don't want you to do. There is apparently a policy in place that is being enforced with these filters...you are trying to circumvent these policies and filters. That is why no one is offering help.
 
If you really really really want to do this (an dlike the rest of the posters here I suggest you don't) then you can look into creating a VPN tunnel to your homne, and then surf out from there.
However, if the network was managed by me, then VPN's would be locked down tight (security risks) and most non statdard ports (e.g. 8000) would also be firewalled.
