http links in email messages

OK, this is such a simple problem but it's bugging the heck out of me... both my machine at work and at home has this problem now.

Links won't open in Outlook Express (ie won't launch any browser)

I installed MyIE2 first, then switched to FireFox... tried uninstlling MyIE2 but doesn't help. Firefox is set now as the default browser.

Anyone know how to fix this?

I think you've got my problem reversed?

My http links in Outlook Express won't open in any Internet browser, be it FF or IE...

(the Mail To link you posted above works fine; OE opens up with the email address)

Try this:

Explorer -> Tools -> Folder Options -> File Types -> URL:HyperText Transfer Protocol -> Advanced -> Open -> Edit

Make sure it's "C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe" -nohome, not C:\Progra~1\Intern~1\iexplore.exe.

Repeat for any similar "File Types".

I've fixed the problem this way before. 🙂

No dice, and I've found that links in MSN messenger windows do not open as well... 😕

I followed that link, but I don't see a URL:HyperText Transfer Protocol

Instead I have a URL: Internet Shortcut

Are they the same things?

Sound advice 🙂

I guess I'll hold out til a new version of FF comes out, then I'll try installing it and see if that fixes things..

Ok, I thought a re-install of any browser will do... but apparently after installing 0.9 Firefox, still aint fixed :thumbsdown::thumbsdown:

I'll have to try Warcrow's way to uninstall/reinstall IE6 I reckon.
