HTT drops to 200 after Windows standby

My HTT is set to 325 via BIOS on A8N32, but if I go into Standby and return, the HTT drops to 200.

Everything else is A-OK, and I only noticed it on a random check with cpu-z. "200x8=1600."

Why? Can it be corrected?

i thought something like cool and quiet only changed the multiplier. i would assume you already disabled it since you overclocked... is the bios on your mobo the latest one? if not flash it, that may be the cause. i never use standby but would think this is config related in the bios or a bug in an older bios they corrected.

You could try messing with ACPI settings in the BIOS, as in power states. I'm not sure.

the A64 3200 Venice (same cpu as mine) runs by default at a 10x multiplier on 200htt, i didnt even know mobo's could even go higher than 300 reliably for anything.. do you know if this problem would occur if you just set did your OC as 260x10?? and have the memory as 166mhz instead of your 133 with that OC?? if the problem occur even at that, with all the power managment settings correct, i would just not use the full standby mode anymore. i couldnt find any issue similar to your when i googled so maybe no one goes that high for the HTT or they do not use standby mode.

I took the htt to 410(x6) when I was testing it out, and it worked ok. It's stable at 325, but the standby thing irks me. I was just hoping someone had an easy answer--Too bad for me!

Ah, btw, after standby it's 200x8, so it keeps the multiplier but not the transport speed.

ya, i know it could be a config wrong in power management or a bug since your sure the settings are fine.. im just curious if trying a lower HTT but higher multiplier experiences the standby issue where the htt drops.

Same story at 260x10: becomes 200x10.

Under APM settings in the bios, should it be set to S1, S3, or Auto? Currently on auto.

by default, auto should be fine, but sometimes settings need tweaking. honestly, i know little about standby mode, so you can try s1 and s3, even try "disable" for the mobo's power management settings and just use windows' power management settings, maybe that might do the trick then.
