I just converted my computer to be used as a dedicated HTPC and trying to hook it up to my 47" Phillips 1080p LCD but I get no signals.

Core 2 Duo 2.13 Ghz
4gb Ram
Geforce 8400 GS w/ VGA and DVI out
Win 7 Ultimate 64 Bit

I bought a DVI to HDMI adapter and try hooking it up to my TV via HDMI but I always get no sigmal. Will not post either.
I get a signal from TV by using my Laptop and hooking it directly HDMI to HDMI to LCD TV.
The computer works fine hooking up to a 19" monitor via VGA but will not post anything hooking up through DVI -> HDMI adapter to my LCD TV.
Is something wrong with the DVI for the Video Card? Or the adapter? Its brand new though.
Should I buy another Video card that has HDMI built in? What is the cheapest I can go and still be able to stream 1080p movies?
