There is no EAX support in Vista/Win7 anymore so the point is moot anyways (OpenAL).
Rather, there is no hardware accelerated DirectSound in Vista/Win7, which is what EAX was generally used through. However, EAX can be used through OpenAL too, and hence in Vista/Win7, though the Doom 3 engine games are the only ones I know of that do so naively. Then of course there are the wrapers like Creative's ALchemy, which converts DirectSound calls to OpenAL so one can use EAX in older games with the newer OSes.

5770 is 8.25" from ene to end, and you'll need bit of extra room to plug in power connector.

It will fit though.

The egg cooler 5770's are the quietest 5770's. No need for a vapor x version, these cards don't run hot enough.

Just placed the order for a Gigabyte 5770 1GB for $144-$10 rebate. Should get it before friday since newegg ships from the state next door =]

Has there been a better deal than $134 for a 5770 1gb?

Check the reseller forums. I got a shrouded version for $130 shipped at the turn of the year.
