HTPC remote/Event Ghost problem

QueBert

I have a Harmony One + a Veris IR. I set up the remote as a MCE device in the Harmony software. It's technically controlling my PC, but I'd like to customize the buttons beyond what the logitech software can do. So I installed Eventghost, set up the MCE plugin, checked the disable HID buttons and rebooted. When I reboot and go back into EG, no remote codes are coming up in the left panel. But, the remotes working, if I use the arrow keys on it, it navigates the menus. Anyone here good with EG? This should be a simple ass procedure but I'm having nothing but troubles getting it to work. Googling ain't even helping me find anything that's useful to me.

I have done quite a bit with eventghost but I am not familiar with the Veris IR device. The MCE plugin looks for specific remote ID that are usually sold as being MCE and run as ehome devices .

Try using the HID plugin in eventghost to see if that can recognize the buttons pressed. You can pick what it listens to in the plugin. You should see other usb devices like keyboards listed under it.

Thanks, did the same thing, well I did get one button to display a code, it seemed to function as normal besides that. I found a proggy called ShowKey, which is giving me codes but not for all of the buttons. I think since I'm probably only going to use it for XBMC I might ditch EG, I've spent 3 hours already on what should be a pretty simple program. And haven't made any real progress lol.

My Google skills must suck, I can't believe there isn't anything to be found about this. The Logitech software has no profile for XBMC, and I cannot figure out how to link the touch screen buttons to commands in XBMC. I have a proggy that shows remote codes when you press a key. But it's only showing a code for one (back) In the Logitech software when I chose MCE I can't assign anything I want to the touch screen button, it's gotta be from a list. And all the commands in the list tie into MCE.

Does what I'm saying make sense to anyone? I'm having a bitch of a time figuring out how I'm going to get this remote working 100%. It doesn't have anything to do with my IR receiver being a Veris does it? I'm unsure if/how they vary maker to maker.
