HTPC ram options

Home theatre PC running a S754 AMD 3200+, MSI FIS2R Neo, 6600GT AGP.

Currently has 2x512 PC3200, but I found a Gig stick of 2700 laying around. Would it be worth the added memory to bump the speed down?

I know the difference between 1GB and 2GB is negligible, and with the slower speeds its probobly even less. I would think that for its purpose it would benefit more from faster memory than more memory, but I wanna make sure...TIA!

To be used as an htpc, I think I'd rather have the extra ram.

Best thing might to be just to pop it in and try it. You've got nothing to loose since you already own it.
