HTPC question

I currently have an old PC I want to convert into a basic HTPC with XBMC to have a nice UI for my movie collection. Right now I run into issues with the PC when I try and play 720p and up movies. What do yall think, is it worth it to pony up and buy an HDCP vid card (AGP version) or is the PC to old and maybe I should wait for something like Boxee Box.

AMD 3200+

You can pickup a 8400GS PCI card for VDPAU hardware decode under Linux. I had one in my old Shuttle P4 system (northwood 2.53GHz) and it was able to run 1080p movies with no problem.
