How does one hook up a PC to a home theatre system? I have an DVI-HDMI cable to handle the video half (HDMI cord feeds into receiver) but I can't figure out how to get the audio connected! My sound card, a Soundlbaster X-Fi, only has 3 minijacks. My receiver doesn't have minijack inputs. And because I'm using the HDMI port on the receiver, the only audio source it will accept is a digital one. As far as I know, the sound card only cranks out analog. Is there anything that will convert the minijack outputs on the soundcard, into some sort of digital input (optical or digital coax)? How else can I hook the sound up?

Get a minijack to RCA Y-cable. You should be able to put AC3 out over it if you use the right port and set it up right...read the manual.

Hey YoYo,

Yeah, I'm pretty sure I'm stuck with digital-only. I tried to select the analog multi-channel in while HDMI was selected as the input, and I get an error message, "CANNOT SELECT". I then thought I could use a different selected input, such as "CD", and then change the video source to HDMI. That didn't work either, as HDMI is not selectable as a video source while using any analog audio source on any other input.

I just sent you a PM prior to seeing your replies, but it appears I am still stuck.
