HTPC Info....

Where can I find good, unbiased information on HTPC's?

I need a new DVD player, but I'd rather build an HTPC instead. However, I'm not all that knowledgable about HTPC's, so I'm pretty much focusing on DVD playback to a standard non-HD TV (of course, keeping in mind HD for the future). This way, I can get into the area without dumping a lot of cash on components I may not want.

In other words, I want to be able to start small and upgrade components AND functionality when the cash is available.

TIA. I know there are some threads on this already, but they didn't seem to list any sites. Feel free to respond or pm as you wish.

Any other recommended sites? I'm also interested in the tech behind DVD Playback to a standard TV and an HD-TV. This will of course help me to make wise component decisions.

Thanks to all who have responded so far (sorry if this question is addressed by the sites already listed....I haven't had a chance to check them out yet...)

Some of this overlaps w/ previous posts, but these are sites I find useful:

http://www.htpcnews.com - general htpc
http://www.htpcforums.com - general htpc
http://www.avsforums.com - general htpc
http://www.avsforums.com - itx specific
http://www.silentpcreview.com - acoustic specific
http://www.mini-itx.com - itx specific
http://www.digitalpowerhouse.net - a little known enclosure
http://www.nmediapc.com - a formerly little known enclosure

The case threads on htpcnews and htpcforums list most cases that are deemed "suitable" for HTPC duty, but you really have to dig to find information on the two I linked here. (well, nmedia interest has been brewing on htpcnews for the past 30 hrs or so...)

edit: it's digitalpowerhouse .NET not .COM - oops!
