HTPC - Illuminated or Cordless?

I wish I could have an illuminated, re-chargeable, Cordless keyboard mouse combo but I cant have the keyboard cost more than the computer, so I am left with a dilemma. Both have uses, but which is MORE useful for an HTPC. The computer will be in the bedroom, and there will be a remote for the TUNER, but still, a keyboard will be necessary whenever I need to pause and look something up on wiki or something...

Cordless - The benefits are not difficult to untangle and step up to 30 feet away from.

Illuminated - The benefits are as obvious as a lantern in a cave.

Which would YOU CHOOSE?

Yeah, I'd go for a standard cordless keyboard with a clap on lamp by the bed.

Solves everything, and then you're ohh so trendy.

If the DiNovo Edge (great) or DiNovo Mini (freaking awesome) are out of your price range, I would choose the VidaBox Wireless Media Keyboard and a lamp.

I choose to learn to touch type.

Lol, I actually have a problem with typing. The typing system we use is designed for type writers and is woefully out of date. Typing classes should be updated, heck maybe even keyboards, to take into consideration the fact that paople have one hand on their mouse. We should be using the copy/paste and other mouse functions with our one hand while we type with the other. IT only makes sense. I think people who type traditionally, while they may type incredibly fast, they lose much of the efficiency of having a mouse.

This is totally off topic and has nothing to do with the question at hand - it seems the consensus is to go cordless, which is oddly the opposite of my wife's preference. Strange...

The DiNovo Edge is the most beautiful keyboard I've ever beheld and used. Tiger Direct was doing $120 after a $50 rebate. Shop around. (word of warning though, the bluetooth dongle SUCKS and will take massive effort to get working, my laptop has bluetooth integrated so it wasn't a problem for me).

QWERTY is made to slow down typists

The diagonal layout of a keyboard is made to accomodate the mechanism of typewriters, but has stuck with us because of stupid people

I use an old Logitech Cordless MX Duo for my HTPC and it works fine. Remember, you should rarely have to use a keyboard on it anyway and I mostly just use my mouse. I also do not use mine like a standard HTPC (with Media Center or something like that). I just click on files with my mouse and open them :p. But whenever I want to use a keyboard for browsing or something, the MX Duo keyboard works just fine.

I also have an ATi Remote wonder, but getting it to work in Vista was a pain. It also had x64 on it which definitely doesn't work... but the 32-bit one may. But that only works well in a media center environment (kind of like Geexbox).
