I think I'm going to hook up my cheaper HTPC to our second TV, which is a standard definition TV, 480. I'll be using my 7600GT, using the breakout dongle, and either the composite video out, or the component video out cables. Is there any problem in doing this? I'll be upgrading the TV in a few months, but for now, I'll use the old TV.

And no, I don't expect to use the TV as a PC monitor, just play some standard DVDs, and use a NTSC tuner in the PC, until NTSC is turned off in 2009

Thanks

No problems.

It will just look bad. You will have to play around with the settings within Nvidia CP to get a resolution that looks best

Is it possible to get a picture that looks as good as playing a DVD in a DVD player connected to the TV?
